The report arrives before the paperwork
An operator reports a delay while away from a desk: “Shipment 4821 is waiting at the receiving gate. They cannot unload until tomorrow.” The coordinator needs a shipment reference, an exception type, and the next available window. A transcript alone does not give the operations system those fields.
In this illustrative workflow, Assisto’s speech recognition feeds a context-aware agent. The agent identifies the shipment, collects the missing details, and prepares a structured exception through a configured business-system tool. The operator uses voice while the coordinator receives a record that can be assigned and tracked.
Read back the details that matter
A similar-sounding reference can select the wrong shipment. Before submission, the assistant reads back the reference and the exception: “Shipment four-eight-two-one; receiving location unavailable until tomorrow. Is that correct?” Relative dates must be resolved using the operating location and confirmed where ambiguity remains.
Assisto provides ASR, speech translation, and TTS across more than 40 languages. For this application, language choice is only part of the test: numeric references, location names, background noise, and interrupted replies all affect whether the right record is created.
Draft, submitted, acknowledged
The interface should expose three distinct states. A draft contains the operator’s confirmed report. A submission is an attempted business-system write. An acknowledgement includes the reference returned by that system. Only the third state warrants “Your report has been recorded.”
If connectivity drops, the proposed application keeps a visible draft and offers retry. It does not imply the coordinator has received it. A stable request identifier can prevent duplicate exceptions when the connection returns. This recovery behavior belongs in the application and integration design alongside the voice model.
Choose the processing boundary deliberately
Supported edge speech models can move recognition or synthesis onto the device using Qualcomm Hexagon on supported Snapdragon platforms or Apple silicon on supported iOS devices. The shipment service remains a network dependency unless a separate offline synchronization design is implemented.
The pilot should inspect incorrectly recognised references, corrections before submission, duplicate writes, and the time until coordinator acknowledgement. A fast spoken response is valuable only if the record behind it is accurate and reaches the team responsible.
